Sir Bert Massie
We are grateful to Sir Herbert ‘Bert’ Massie CBE, DL,FRSA (1949 – 2017) for his support and guidance in creating this project. A long term wheelchair user as a result of polio, Sir Bert was a lifelong disability activist and former chair of the Disability Rights Commission (DRC 2000 – 2007) and was founding commissioner of its successor the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
